Skeleton Krewe parade schedule for Carnival 2019

Published January 30th, 2019

It’s Skeleton Krewe’s 20th anniversary! We’ll be marching in two parades as usual this Carnival season — we’ll be leading Krewe d’Etat on Friday, March 1st, starting at 6:30pm, and then we’ll do our solo march Mardi Gras morning, March 5th, starting at 6:30am and ending at Jackson Square around 8:30am. From there we’ll mosey on over toward Frenchman Street and hang around the street party in front of R Bar after around 10:30am. Come say hi and get yerself a copy of our 20th anniversary zine!!

What is the starting point of the Mardi Gras day solo march?

Is there a link to the route?

    Thanks.

Hey Eugene, sorry we didn’t get to this comment in time for Mardi Gras; you contacted us during our busiest week of the year! Our route these days starts at Samuel Square park on Napoleon; we start marching at 6am and then turn onto St Charles and take that all the way to the French Quarter (although we got detoured a bit this year just after Poydras). We cross Canal and zigzag into the Quarter and end up at Jackson Square by around 8:30am or so. We take a break there and then we walk on Chartres to Harry’s bar, where we stop for another short break. Then we continue on Chartres all the way to Kerlerec Street where we turn left and stop just before R Bar. That’s the end of our march but most of us hang around the R Bar street party for a few hours. Hope to see you next year!
